The Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (IDMC), established in 1998 by the Norwegian Refugee Council, is the leading international body monitoring conflict-induced internal displacement worldwide. The Centre aims to improve national and international capacities to protect and assist the millions of people around the globe who have been displaced within their own country as a result of conflicts or human rights violations. The website contains resources, statistics and news updates by region, country, and theme, as well as weblinks to academic and research centres, NGO and IGO’s and United Nations initiatives.

Global Commission on International Migration

The Global Commission on International Migration was launched by the United Nations Secretary-General and a number of governments on December 9, 2003 in Geneva. It is comprised of 19 Commissioners, is independent and was given the mandate to provide the framework for the formulation of a coherent, comprehensive and global response to the issue of international migration. The website contains information on migration related news and events, research and links to academic research centers.
